ART 111 - Design Fundamentals was the first true hands-on art course I have taken at Miami. It challenged me to become a better designer by focusing on the design elements and design principles in two-, three-, and four-dimensions. Additionally, we practiced idea generation, good craftsmanship, and design vocabulary. One of the deliverables for the class revolved around News. We were instructed to choose a fairly current news article that evokes a personal response that we would later create a two-dimensional design that includes space and value. The News Article that I chose to focus on was about the Michigan State University shooting that happened in February of 2023.
